2010 Alister Clark Stakes Final Field

February 11th, 2010

The Moonee Valley Racecourse is gearing up to host Saturday’s exciting day of racing with the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes just one of the day’s features.

The 1600 metre race, for three-year-old colts and geldings has an exciting line up, with 10 horses starting.

Taking the inside barrier is the Danny O’Brien-trained Eraset. As just one of three entrants by O’Brien, the gelding has won two of his last three starts; the other entrants are Take The Rap and At The Heads.

Take The Rap will be a favourite for the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes having won the Group 3 C S Hayes Stakes (1400m) although will have to overcome his wide 10th barrier start to succeed once again.

Take The Rap will be a favourite for the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes.

Grabbing headlines coming into Saturday’s proceedings is Cosmocrat who drew the eighth barrier. The Mick Price-trained gelding will be hoping to add the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes to his recent two wins, most recent being the Schweppes Handicap (1500m). Cosmocrat will surely be a favourite having an unbeaten record.

John Thompson has two starters in the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes in Full Metal Jacket and Prost. Full Metal Jacket could be a strong contender for the race coming in off a 1,400 metre triumph in Newcastle.

Also racing on Saturday at Moonee Valley will be the feature event the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m), the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) and the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (1500m).
