Nominations For The 2010 Alister Clark Stakes

February 8th, 2010

Some of Australia’s top three-year-old colts and geldings are gearing up for proceedings at the Moonee Valley Racecourse on Saturday in the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes.

The Group 2 event spans 1600m and has prize money of $180,000 for these future stars of Australian horse racing and the nominations have been released.

One to watch will be David Hayes-trained Extra Zero. The colt recently finished third in the C S Hayes Stakes (1400m) and second in the Victoria Derby (2500m).

Pipping Extra Zero to the runners up spot in the C S Hayes Stakes was the Peter Moody-trained At The Heads (NZ). The gelding is coming into the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes on good form with two wins already this year.

Take The Rap is an incredibly strong contender for the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes.

However, the Danny O’Brien-trained Take The Rap is an incredibly strong contender for the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes after taking out both Extra Zero and At The Heads to cross the line first at the C S Hayes Stakes.

The running of the 2010 Alister Clark Stakes will be the third race of the day at Moonee Valley with the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) another notable race for the day.
